With the theme ‘Enhancement of Maintenance Capability and Capacity to Maximise Operational Potential of the Indian Air Force’, the IAF held a two-day Maintenance Command Commanders’ Conference at Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur, starting Thursday.
The conference aimed to strengthen self-reliance, promote use of Indian-made systems, and ensure the long-term upkeep of important Air Force equipment. Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, the Chief of the Air Staff, joined the event through a hybrid format. He was updated on the efforts by the Maintenance Command to reduce dependence on foreign manufacturers, improve system reliability, extend the life of equipment, and support new innovations.
Highlighting the importance of inclusive growth and major reforms, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) urged commanders under the Maintenance Command to actively work towards reducing reliance on foreign manufacturers. He also encouraged them to boost India’s own capabilities to help the Indian Air Force reach its full operational strength.
