In a major announcement that promises to redefine the cinematic experience in India, renowned film producers Abhishek Aggarwal and Vikram Reddy revealed plans to construct the world’s largest cinema screen in Nagpur. The announcement was made at the ‘WAVES 2025’ event in Mumbai, positioning the city at the forefront of entertainment innovation.
Abhishek Aggarwal, known for producing the critically acclaimed film The Kashmir Files, shared his excitement in an exclusive conversation with Lokmat Times. “Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making Indian entertainment world-class, this is a humble opportunity for us to create a cinematic landmark,” he said. “We’re grateful to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for supporting our vision and sharing our ambition.”
Aggarwal emphasized that the project goes beyond building a record-breaking screen. “We’re creating a symbol of India’s global cinematic rise. These theatres will be inclusive spaces, built under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, designed to celebrate the art of cinema and make it accessible to all,” he added.
Vikram Reddy, founder of UV Creations, echoed similar sentiments, expressing pride in contributing to the monumental initiative. “At UV Creations, our mission has always been to elevate the movie-going experience,” he said. “We’re combining our passion for impactful filmmaking with our expertise in theatre design to deliver an unparalleled experience. The first of these mega cinemas will rise in Nagpur—the heart of India.”
Reddy also acknowledged the support of both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister in making this vision a reality. “This is just the beginning,” he added, hinting at more such projects in the pipeline.
With the announcement, Nagpur is set to become home to what may soon be recognized globally as a temple of cinema—marking a new chapter in India’s entertainment industry.
