The families of seven workers who lost their lives in the tragic explosion at MMP Industries Ltd. in Umred MIDC have received a total compensation of ₹35 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, officials confirmed.
The fatal incident occurred on April 11, 2025, when a powerful explosion tore through the aluminum foil manufacturing unit, killing seven workers and injuring several others. The injured were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, with support from the district administration.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the hospital following the blast to check on the injured and meet their families. He assured full government support and expressed heartfelt condolences.
In line with the CM’s directive, each of the seven victims’ families has received ₹5 lakh in financial assistance. Rameshwar Naik, head of the CM’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Assistance Cell, confirmed the disbursement and said the aid aims to provide immediate relief to the grieving families.
“This support goes beyond monetary help. It symbolizes the government’s solidarity with citizens during moments of crisis,” Naik stated, adding that the relief process was completed swiftly and efficiently.
The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund remains a crucial mechanism for extending timely aid to families affected by industrial accidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
