Dr. Shravan Shingane, a doctor from Palghar, was left in shock after a gang of four unidentified robbers attacked him and his family while they were traveling home from Buldhana on the Samruddhi Mahamarg on May 2.
The partially open 701-kilometre expressway, which connects Mumbai and Nagpur, has been praised for reducing travel time significantly but is facing criticism due to incomplete construction and inadequate patrolling, making it prone to robberies.
Recounting the traumatic experience, Dr. Shingane, who runs Sai Clinic in Boisar, shared, “I save lives and treat the injured for a living. When these robbers attacked my family and me, I felt completely helpless.”
