Amid rising tensions and a war-like situation between India and Pakistan, security has been stepped up in Rajasthan’s border districts, including Jodhpur, Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Barmer.
Following the developments after Operation Sindoor, the government has also issued an advisory in response to the changed circumstances.
Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and state police chief U.R. With high alert sounded in the border districts of western Rajasthan, a blackout has been instituted in these areas. As a safeguard against possible air strikes, a blackout will be enforced from 9 pm to 4 am in Barmer and Jaisalmer owing to the presence of critical infrastructure there. In Jodhpur, a blackout is enforced from 12.30 am to 4 am.
Flying of drones and bursting of crackers have been banned in Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar. Government and private schools have been closed in Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer districts as a precautionary measure, officials said on Thursday. All Jodhpur colleges were also ordered to remain closed. Moreover, flight operations at Bikaner, Kishangarh in Ajmer, and Jodhpur airports have been suspended till May 10 as a precautionary measure.
In view of the developing security situation, police across the state have been directed to intensify security measures.
