The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 fixture between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off on Thursday evening after reports emerged of cross-border attacks from Pakistan targeting multiple locations in India.
The game, held at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, was halted during the 11th over of Punjab Kings’ innings. The team had lost one wicket when play was unexpectedly interrupted. Initially, a sudden blackout of one floodlight tower was assumed to be a technical malfunction. However, as two more lighting towers were intentionally turned off and security officials took control of the venue, the situation escalated.
Spectators were promptly instructed to exit the premises, and the match was officially called off as a precautionary step amid heightened national security concerns.
