Petrol pump operators in the district have postponed their plan to stop accepting digital payments from May 10. They had already started preparing for the protest, but after Tuesday night’s air strike, the dealers decided to hold off on their agitation.
Atim Gupta, President of the Federation of All Maharashtra Petrol Dealers Associations (FAMPEDA), said the decision was made in view of the current situation in the country.
“The Indian armed forces have delivered a strong blow to terrorism. Mock drills are being conducted in several states. At a time like this, the dealers have prioritized standing in solidarity with the government and the armed forces,” Gupta said.
The planned protest, initially set to highlight concerns about digital transaction fees and other issues, has been postponed by the petrol pump operators. They decided not to cause any disruption during this critical time.
FAMPEDA mentioned that future actions will depend on how the situation develops. The organization reiterated its dedication to protecting the interests of petrol dealers while prioritizing the national interest above all else.
