Despite heightened cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan disrupting air travel in several northern and western regions, flight operations at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport remain unaffected.
Passengers in Nagpur have no cause for concern, as all domestic and international flights are operating as per schedule.
According to a local daily, a senior airport official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed, “There have been no changes to the flight schedule. All arrivals and departures are running normally.”
However, in light of the ongoing Operation Sindoor, security has been tightened at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur.
Passengers have been advised to arrive well in advance and cooperate with security personnel during checks, a senior airport official added.
Alok Vaidya, Chairman of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Vidarbha Chapter, and Managing Director of Rupsha Aero Services Pvt. Ltd., confirmed that air passengers continue to travel normally from Nagpur airport. “So far, we have not received any ticket cancellation requests from passengers,” he said.
It is worth noting that, on average, 60 to 62 flights operate daily from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, including two international flights to Doha and a weekly flight to Sharjah. Major domestic carriers operating from the airport include Air India, IndiGo, and Star Airlines.
“No major changes have tak-en place except some adjust-mentsin the timings of the flights. However, if the situation inten-sifies and the duration of the conflict increases, the Government may issue new guidelines to be followed at Nagpur airport,” he explained.
It is worth noting that amid rising cross-border tensions, the Indian government has temporarily suspended operations at 27 airports across the country.
More than 450 flights have been cancelled, and a nationwide security advisory has been issued, severely affecting air travel in northern and western regions.
