In a major crackdown on illegal activities, Crime Branch Unit 1 of Nagpur Police on Tuesday raided Delight Spa, located near Indian Bank on South Ambazari Road, Shraddhanandpeth, under Bajaj Nagar Police Station limits, and unearthed a sex racket operating under the guise of a spa.
Acting on a specific tip-off, the police team conducted the raid around 4:15 PM and apprehended one accused identified as Rizul Ali Ismail Ali (26), a resident of Soyagaon, Assam. His accomplice, Rahanuddin Sahabuddin (26), also from Assam, is currently absconding. The duo had allegedly been using the spa to facilitate prostitution by providing rooms to clients and forcing women into sex work for monetary gains.
During the raid, police rescued five women from the premises. They also seized two mobile phones, Rs 31,700 in cash, and other related materials—together valued at approximately Rs 72,760.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) at Bajaj Nagar Police Station. The arrested accused, along with the seized materials, has been handed over to Bajaj Nagar Police for further investigation.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The raid was led by PI Amol Deshmukh and PSI Sachin Bhonde, along with their team.
