NMC Commissioner Warns During Sitabuldi Traffic Inspection
Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari has issued a stern warning to shopkeepers on Sitabuldi Main Road, warning them against encroaching on public roads. During an inspection of traffic arrangements on Tuesday, Dr. Chaudhari said that any shop found placing goods on footpaths or roads will face strict action, including the seizure of material.

Following a joint anti-encroachment drive by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Nagpur Police, Sitabuldi Main Road has been cleared of hawkers. The vendors have been relocated to Maharajbagh Road, paving the way for organized vehicular parking on both sides of the road.
Dr. Chaudhari, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Archit Chandak, Additional Commissioners Vasumana Pant and Ajay Charthankar, Assistant Commissioners Harish Raut and Snehalata Kumbhar, and officials from the enforcement and nuisance detection squads, conducted a ground-level inspection from the Mahatma Gandhi statue to Parekh Jewellers.

The commissioner directed officials to continue strict anti-encroachment measures, especially in Modi Galli Nos. 1, 2, and 3, and other internal lanes in the Sitabuldi market area. He also instructed the traffic department to install clear signage for designated parking zones and ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Officials confirmed that an anti-encroachment team will be deployed daily between 12 pm and 10 pm in the Sitabuldi area to monitor compliance. Meanwhile, the DCP (Traffic) has directed personnel to seize vehicles parked in no-parking zones to maintain order.
New Parking Arrangements
With hawkers now moved, parking is allowed on both sides of the road. Four-wheeler parking is marked on the right side of the road from Bata Showroom to Novelty, Bombewala to Dream Shopper, and Venkatesh Market to Parekh Jewellers.
Two-wheeler parking is allowed on the left side from Bala Footwear to Raza Opticals, Silky Lounge to Khadi Gramodyog, and Joshi Ice Cream to the old Parekh Jewellers.
Officials say the goal is to keep Sitabuldi free from traffic jams and to ensure smooth movement for shoppers and vehicles.
