Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MahaVitaran) has issued an appeal to consumers across the state to lodge power outage complaints through its 24-hour toll-free helplines rather than contacting field workers or officials directly.
The official helpline numbers; 1912, 1800 233 3435, and 1800 212 3435, are available round-the-clock to ensure swift registration and resolution of electricity-related issues. With over three crore consumers statewide, including 18 lakh in Nagpur alone, MahaVitaran emphasizes the importance of using digital and centralized complaint systems for efficient service delivery.
According to company officials, contacting individual staff members can delay fault resolution and even pose safety risks, as such calls are not officially logged into the system. Consumers are encouraged to provide their 12-digit consumer number when registering a complaint, allowing the system to route the issue to the concerned branch office and ensure compliance with regulatory timelines.
In addition to the helplines, complaints can be lodged by sending an SMS with the text ‘NOPOWER’ to 99303 99303 or by giving a missed call to 022-50897100 from a registered mobile number. Consumers can also use the official MahaVitaran mobile app or website for quick and efficient complaint registration.
MahaVitaran urges all consumers to use these official channels to help streamline the resolution process and improve service delivery across Maharashtra.
