The Crime Branch has launched a major operation against the Texas Smoke Shop in Nagpur for allegedly selling and stocking banned hookah-related products. During the raid, a large quantity of hookah flavours, e-cigarettes, and hookah pots was seized from the premises.
The investigation led police to a warehouse linked to the shop, located under the jurisdiction of Wathoda Police Station. The warehouse, reportedly owned by Ashish Sahu—the proprietor of the Texas brand—was also raided. Officials discovered a substantial stock of illegal tobacco products stored there.
Following the seizure, legal action has been initiated against Sahu. According to the police, the raid was based on reliable intelligence about the sale and storage of prohibited items that pose serious health risks, particularly to the youth. Further inquiry into the matter is ongoing.
