Amid a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has appealed to residents not to panic but to remain vigilant and follow necessary precautions.
In a recent press release, the civic body advised the public not to dismiss flu-like symptoms, especially if body temperature exceeds 38°C and is accompanied by a sore throat. Citizens experiencing such symptoms are encouraged to seek medical consultation at the nearest hospital. Additionally, the NMC has recommended undergoing a COVID-19 test if symptoms persist beyond 48 hours.
According to official data, seven COVID-19 cases have been detected in Nagpur so far in May. Of these, five patients have fully recovered, while the remaining two are under home isolation and receiving treatment. Importantly, no hospitalizations have been reported.
Currently, testing facilities are operational at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH). The NMC has assured that more testing centres will be made available as per state government directives
