Starting July 1, international travel from Nagpur is set to become more seamless, as passengers will soon be able to book single-ticket (Passenger Name Record, or PNR) journeys to Manchester and Amsterdam with connecting flights via Mumbai. IndiGo Airlines is introducing this new service to enhance connectivity and simplify travel formalities for flyers from central India.
While travelers will face a layover of approximately 4–5 hours at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the overall process is expected to be more efficient. According to sources, passengers bound for Manchester will board their flight from Nagpur late at night, arriving in Mumbai around midnight. The onward flight is scheduled to depart at 4:15 am.
Similarly, for Amsterdam-bound passengers, the domestic flight will depart Nagpur at 10:35 pm and arrive in Mumbai by midnight. The international leg of the journey will then take off at 5:20 am.
One key advantage of this arrangement is that immigration checks will be completed in Mumbai, streamlining the process for international flyers. Additionally, passengers can check in their baggage at Nagpur and collect it directly at their final destination—either Manchester or Amsterdam—without having to recheck it in Mumbai.
Currently, there are no direct flights from Nagpur to any European cities, making this initiative a significant improvement in international accessibility for the region. The domestic leg of the journey to Mumbai is already in operation, and this new service is expected to provide a more convenient and comfortable option for travelers.
The PNR code provided during booking will allow passengers to check in online, access flight details, and minimize wait times at the airport, contributing to a smoother and more comfortable travel experience.
