Nagpur: After the tragic Mercedes accident on Ramjhula flyover that claimed two lives, the same stretch has once again drawn attention for all the wrong reasons. A fresh incident of violence was caught on camera, showing a young woman and four of her friends allegedly assaulting a biker after a minor road mishap on the flyover.
The altercation reportedly occurred between Friday night and early Saturday morning when a two-wheeler brushed against the woman’s car. Enraged, she stepped out, hurled obscene abuse at the biker, and began assaulting him. Soon, four of her male friends arrived and joined the attack.
The entire episode was captured on video and widely circulated on social media on Saturday, May 31, triggering public outrage and raising serious concerns over unchecked night-time violence on city roads.
Shockingly, despite the viral footage, local police stations claimed to have no official record or report of the incident. The absence of police action has fueled criticism of law enforcement’s inaction in what’s now being viewed as a high-risk zone.
With back-to-back incidents — from a fatal crash involving Ritika Maloo’s Mercedes to this recent assault — citizens are demanding urgent intervention and increased patrolling on Ramjhula to restore public safety.
