A horrifying road accident occurred on the Bilaspur-Raipur highway in Chhattisgarh on Monday, claiming the life of a 31-year-old cloth merchant, Jackie Gehi, and leaving two others critically injured.
According to reports, the driver of a Toyota Innova, Akash Chandani, opened the vehicle’s door to spit gutkha while traveling at nearly 100 kmph. This reckless action caused him to lose control of the car, which veered into the divider and overturned multiple times, striking two other vehicles and injuring another driver.
Gehi, seated in the back, was flung out of the vehicle and fatally hit a metal structure. He died on the spot due to severe head, chest, and shoulder injuries. The other two passengers, including the driver and Pankaj Chhabra, were also ejected and suffered critical injuries.
CCTV footage captured the horrifying crash, showing the car flipping, a passenger being ejected, and the vehicle crashing into a pole.
Emergency services quickly responded, and the injured were taken to a hospital. Authorities are investigating the incident further.
