A bomb threat sent via email to the CGO (Central Government Offices) Complex in Seminary Hills under Gittikhadan Police Station created panic on Friday, prompting a swift response from the police and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). The threat comes just days after a similar email was sent to the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court. In both incidents, no explosives or suspicious materials were found.
Acting on the alert, Gittikhadan police, along with the BDDS team, cordoned off the complex and carried out an intensive search of the entire premises. After a thorough inspection, authorities confirmed that nothing suspicious was discovered.
Police have launched a probe to trace the origin of the email and have registered an offence under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Efforts are on to identify and locate the person responsible for the hoax.
The threat briefly disrupted operations and triggered fear among employees and visitors at the complex. Police have assured that adequate security measures are in place and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
