In response to widespread requests from students and parents, the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced a second round of CET for admission into BBA, BCA, BMS, and BBM programmes. This move follows concerns raised by several aspirants who missed the primary exam held on April 29 and 30.
The announcement arrives after MLC Abhijeet Wanjari flagged the issue during a discussion with Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, citing confusion among candidates due to the sudden inclusion of these courses under the technical education umbrella. Additionally, Rudra Dhakde—recently appointed President of the NCP Youth Wing—led a delegation to press for an extra CET. Shortly after, Patil confirmed that the CET Cell would schedule an additional exam.
In its official notice, the CET Cell stated: “Keeping in view the academic interests of the said candidates, the Government has approved this office to conduct an additional common entrance examination for admission to BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM degree courses.”
The initial MAH CET 2025 results were declared on June 4, with 72,259 registrations and just 61,666 applicants actually appearing across four sessions—leaving a significant number unable to take the exam. The new CET will be open to those who either missed the first round or wish to improve their scores.
While several institutions recommend completing the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) before the new CET, the official register for the additional exam will begin shortly. Candidates are advised to monitor the CET Cell website for registration details and exam dates.
