An Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on Thursday, with over 200 passengers feared dead. Among those on board were members of the Kamdar family from Nagpur, according to preliminary information. Official confirmation from authorities is still awaited.
The flight, carrying 232 passengers and 10 crew members, departed from Ahmedabad airport at 1:17 pm. It included 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian passenger.
Following news of the crash, relatives of the Kamdar family have reportedly rushed to Ahmedabad. The exact number of Kamdar family members on the flight is not yet confirmed, and more details are expected soon.
Rescue operations are underway near the crash site, and authorities are expected to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the incident and the confirmed list of passengers.
