The 4th Sub-Junior National Dueball Championship was inaugurated with great enthusiasm at the Vidarbha Hockey Association Ground in Nagpur.
The prestigious event is being hosted by the Vidarbha Dueball Association under the leadership of its President, Mr. Arunpal Singh Behal. A total of 22 state teams from across India are participating in this national-level tournament, reflecting the sport’s rapid growth and increasing popularity among youth.
Dueball, a fast-emerging sport, owes its wide reach to its founder, Mr. Firoz Khan, whose tireless efforts have established the sport in all Indian states and over 40 countries around the world. Speaking at the event, Mr. Khan expressed optimism that Dueball will soon receive official recognition as a national sport of India.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including Mrs. Swarna Khandelwal Joshi, Deputy Charity Commissioner; Mr. Syed Nawab, Secretary of the Dueball Federation of India (DFI); Mr. Ghani Khan; Advocate Shivani Joshi; Mr. Kishor Jichkar; Mrs. International Vinita Bhatia; Mr. Santosh Pakodewala , Mr. Abhay Dattatray from RFAB DTDC; Mrs. Renu Siddhu, a noted athlete; Mr. Avinash Bhisne; and Mr. Nikhil Wankhede.
In his address, Mr. Arunpal Singh Behal shared that national-level Dueball championships in the Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior categories are organized annually across various parts of the country. The most recent tournaments were successfully held in Jaipur and Goa. He also announced that the Dueball World Cup will be held in Iraq this October, with 30 countries expected to participate.
The championship will continue over the next few days, featuring competitive matches that promise to showcase the energy, skills, and spirit of young Dueball players from across the nation.
