Amid confusion triggered by some schools announcing early reopening dates, the Education Department has released a definitive circular confirming that all schools across Maharashtra will reopen on June 23, 2025, after the summer break.
The directive, issued on June 16 by the Education Officer (Primary), Zilla Parishad, Nagpur, is applicable to all school categories — including private unaided, aided, self-financed institutions, and CBSE-affiliated schools.
In view of the persistent high temperatures in the Vidarbha region, the Director of Education, Maharashtra, has instructed that schools operate on morning shifts during the first week of reopening. From June 23 to June 28, classes will run from 7:00 AM to 11:45 AM to ensure student safety and comfort. Regular full-day sessions will commence from June 30, 2025.
The circular has been circulated to all concerned departments for prompt implementation, ending any speculation regarding the reopening schedule.
