A worker died and five others were injured following a chemical slurry leak at Ankit Pulps and Boards, a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit located in Bhilgaon under New Kamptee Police jurisdiction on Tuesday.
The incident occurred after slurry leaked from a Glass Lined Reactor (GLR) inside the facility. One worker was killed on the spot, while another sustained serious injuries. Four others were also injured and are currently undergoing treatment.
Senior officials, including DCP Niketan Kadam, PI Mahesh Andhale, the factory inspector, and labour inspector, visited the site and reviewed the situation. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the leak and to check for possible lapses in industrial safety protocols.
Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
