Nagpur: In a broad daylight incident that created panic in the area, three youths, including a minor, looted ₹4.36 lakh from a company employee at knifepoint in Wadi’s Ambedkar Nagar locality on Tuesday afternoon. The robbery occurred around 1 pm near Chandramani Chowk, close to a crematorium.
The victim, Vedprakash Lajpatprasad Shukla (31), a resident of Kalamna, works for Soham Corporation Pvt. Ltd. in MIDC. As part of his duties, he was heading to deposit company funds at HDFC Bank on a two-wheeler (MH 49 BD 2860) when the incident took place.
While passing through the narrow road near Ambedkar Nagar, three unidentified individuals stopped Shukla and held him at knifepoint. They snatched the cash bag containing ₹4,36,350 and fled the spot.
The incident was immediately reported to Wadi Police, who launched a swift investigation. Within just two hours, police managed to apprehend the accused — Aryan Harish Walde (18), Ankit Siddharth Vaidya (20), both residents of Chandramani Chowk, and their juvenile accomplice.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, including Sections 309(4) and 3(5). Further investigations are underway to determine if the accused are linked to any other similar crimes in the city.
