A youth was duped of Rs 10.50 lakh by making false promises to get a job as a clerk. The fraud came to light in Mul town of Chandrapur district. The accused have been named as Rajesh alias Raju Puddatwar and Prashant alias Nana Akkewar, both residents of Mul. An offence against them has been registered following a complaint by the victim, Saishwar Bhalchandra Pulgamwar.
Raju and Nana assured Saishwar of a job as a clerk at the Mul Municipal Council, for which they demanded Rs 10.50 lakh. Both lured Saishwar, projecting that they knew an influential person in Mumbai. Saishwar paid Rs 10.50 lakh between March 2025 and April 26, 2025, in cash and online.
He lodged a complaint with the police, as he did not receive any letter relating to the assured job. The police are investigating the connection between Raju and Nana with any influential person. The two are said to have extracted crores of rupees from gullible youths.
