A New Spin on Swiping
Double Date builds on the momentum of popular features like Tinder Matchmaker™ and Share My Date, which let friends and family be part of your dating life. This time, the Swipe® experience becomes a shared adventure — fun, light, and way less pressure.
Gen Z is All In
Tinder tested Double Date in key global markets and saw nearly 90% of profiles coming from users under 29 — with Gen Z and younger millennials leading the charge. No surprise there, since Gen Z makes up over half of Tinder’s global user base and often views dating as a team effort.
How It Works
Using Double Date is easy and exciting:
- Tap the Double Date icon on your main screen.
- Pair up with up to 3 friends (one pair per session).
- Start swiping together and like the pairs that feel like a match.
- Only one like per pair is needed to create a group chat.
- Make plans without the pressure — think less awkward small talk, more shared fun.
Why It’s Working
During testing, Double Date sparked stronger engagement:
- Women were 3x more likely to like a pair than a solo profile.
- Match rates and messages were higher across the board.
- Users sent 35% more messages in Double Date chats than in one-on-one conversations.
It also helped bring people back to the app nearly 15% of users who joined a Double Date were either new or recently reactivated.
From pre-date excitement to post-date debriefs, Double Date makes dating feel more enjoyable, social, and supportive especially for women and younger users.
Try It Now
Double Date is now available in the US and select regions, with a global rollout planned for July.
