In a joint operation, the NDPS squad of Nagpur Police uncovered the illegal sale of banned e-cigarettes being conducted through a clothing outlet in Jaripatka. The raid was carried out on the evening of June 19, 2025, at the Nonsense Clothing Shop located at Barakhadi Chowk, Nara Road.
Based on a tip-off, officials from the NDPS team conducted surveillance and confirmed that prohibited e-cigarettes were being sold discreetly from within the clothing shop. A search led to the seizure of 62 e-cigarettes, two mobile phones, a DVR, and cash, amounting to a total recovery of ₹1,87,850.
Two individuals have been named in the case:
• Jitendra Mangilal Solanki (36), resident of Rajnagar, Sadar — owner of the shop.
• Yogesh Haribhau Chandekar, resident of Jaripatka — employee.
The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the E-Cigarette Prohibition Act (Sections 4, 5, 7, and 8). A formal offence has been registered at Jaripatka Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
Police have reiterated their commitment to crack down on such illegal trade and urged citizens to report suspicious activities involving the sale of banned products.
