The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has taken an important decision for license holders under its Market Department. License holders who pay their outstanding and current usage charges together by September 30, 2025, will receive an 80% waiver on penalty/late fees/interest.
As per the directive of NMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, if license holders in the city pay their pending and current year’s usage charges in one lump sum between June 16 and September 30, 2025, they will be eligible for an 80% concession on penalties, fines, and interest. The order has been issued by NMC Deputy Commissioner Milind Meshram and the Market Superintendent.
The NMC charges a usage fee for shops, stalls, and other spaces under the Market Department. If these fees are not paid on time, penalties are levied for the delay. Many license holders have large outstanding amounts, which means heavy penalties. This decision has been made to ease their financial burden and speed up revenue collection.
Under this scheme, license holders who clear all their dues along with the current year’s usage charges by September 30, 2025, will get an 80% waiver on the total penalty/fine/interest amount. This move is expected to reduce the financial burden on license holders and increase municipal revenue.
The NMC has urged all eligible license holders to take advantage of the scheme by clearing their dues and availing of the penalty relief.
