Nagpur: While the monsoon continues to evade the city, schools affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education are all set to reopen today, marking the start of the academic year 2025–26.
Despite the lingering holiday mood, students are returning to campuses filled with excitement—and a royal welcome. Schools across the city have made elaborate preparations to ensure the first day back is both memorable and motivating. Teachers and staff are set to greet students at the entrance with flower petals, warm smiles, and a festive atmosphere aimed at easing the transition from vacation mode to classroom learning.
The day is especially meaningful for young learners, many of whom look forward to reuniting with friends and embracing new academic challenges. In line with the government’s emphasis on child empowerment, several innovative initiatives are expected to be introduced this academic year to help students adapt to a rapidly changing world.
However, the start of the new session has not been without friction. Some private school managements have raised concerns over the delay in government grant disbursals and have called for a postponement of school reopening until pending dues are cleared.
