Nagpur is set to face major inconvenience tomorrow, June 25, as MSEDCL has announced a four-hour power outage across a wide stretch of the city under the guise of “maintenance.” Residents in several zones will be left without electricity during peak morning hours — sparking anger and frustration, especially in this heat.
From 8 AM to 11 AM, Chhatrapati Nagar, Pragati Colony, Sahas Cricket Club, and Anusuya Complex will go dark. Eternity Mall, NIT Complex, and Maharajbagh will lose supply from 10 AM to noon. Subhash Nagar, Hingna Road, Naik Layout, Kamgar Colony, Patel Layout, and nearby areas will be hit between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
North and East Nagpur won’t be spared either. Jaitala, Takli Sim, Khapri Naka, Rajaram Nagar, Sathe Nagar, and Pioneer area will remain powerless from 8 AM. Even posh localities like Ram Nagar, Ravi Nagar Road, and Telangkhedi will be affected till 11:30 AM.
In Mahal Division, from 9 AM to 1 PM, areas like Shesh Nagar, CA Road, Deshpande Layout, Kohinoor Lawn, Ayodhya Nagar, and Chakradhar Nagar will remain shut down. Hudkeshwar, Bhole Nagar, and Corporation Colony face a blackout till 12:30 PM.
Not spared either, Gandhibagh Division areas including Clarke Town, APMC Complex, Lumbini Nagar, MHADA Colony, and Netaji Society will see blackouts ranging from 7 AM to 12 Noon.
Residents are demanding answers. With no concrete timeline for permanent fixes, today’s shutdown feels less like maintenance — and more like mismanagement.
