In a major crackdown, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Nagpur Crime Branch raided a spa in Trimurti Nagar late on Wednesday evening and exposed a sex racket being run under the guise of a massage parlour.
Acting on reliable information, the team conducted a raid between 6:00 pm and 11:55 pm at “Orian Spa” located on the second floor of Muskan Varsha Apartment under Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station limits. During the operation, police apprehended one accused, identified as Tausif Karim Shaikh (26), a resident of Bhola Shah Nagar, Bengali Panja area, Nagpur.
Shaikh, in alleged connivance with a woman named Parvati alias Pinky Thapa, was found running a prostitution racket by providing space and victims to customers for sexual exploitation in exchange for money. Police rescued two young women who were being forced into the illegal trade.
From the spa premises, police recovered ₹4,500 in cash, two mobile phones, a DVR, and other materials worth approximately ₹37,590. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the BNS and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) at Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station.
Following the raid, the accused and seized items were handed over to the local police for further investigation.
This action was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil. The operation was led by PI Gajanan Gulhane and his team.
