After heavy rainfall late Wednesday night, Nagpur continued to experience moderate showers on Thursday, particularly in areas such as Mahal and Ramdaspeth. This marked the third consecutive day of rain in the city.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted heavy rains across West Vidarbha until June 28. While skies remained relatively clear over East Vidarbha, the western districts — including Washim, Akola, Yavatmal, and Wardha — witnessed persistent downpours throughout Thursday. The heavy rain led to waterlogging in several locations.
Washim recorded the highest rainfall at 122.4 mm in the last 24 hours, followed by Akola with 69 mm, Wardha with 54 mm, and Buldhana at 47 mm.
Meteorological officials reported moderate convective activity over Nagpur and nearby areas, with stronger convection observed over West Vidarbha. This suggests the possibility of continued moderate rainfall in Nagpur and surrounding regions.
The weather centre has also cautioned that intermittent to isolated heavy rain spells cannot be ruled out in the next 24 hours due to prevailing conditions.
