The annual Jagannath Ratha Yatra, organized by ISKCON Nagpur’s Shri Shri Radha Gopinath Temple, will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The grand procession will begin at 11:30 AM from Poddareshwar Ram Mandir, Mayo Hospital Chowk, and will be graced by the divine presence of His Holiness Shri Krishna Chaitanya Swami Maharaj, a Tridandi Sannyasi and disciple of HH Lokanath Swami Maharaj, currently based in New York, USA.
According to ISKCON Nagpur spokesperson Dr. Shyamsundar Sharma, prior to the yatra, Lord Jagannath, along with His elder brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, will be brought in a ceremonial convoy from the residence of Dharmaputra Yudhishthir Das at Empress City to the venue near Chandralok Building, Central Avenue, at 10:30 AM. There, the deities will be offered a traditional Chhappan Bhog — a 56-item offering.
A special ratha pujan and grand aarti will be performed in the august presence of HH Krishna Chaitanya Swami Maharaj and distinguished guests before the yatra begins.
The ratha yatra will proceed through major city landmarks including Seva Sadan Square, Agrasen Square, Lal Imli Square, Vallabhacharya Square (Nanga Putla), Khule Square, New Itwari Road, Gandhi Putla Square, Bachhraj Vyas Square (Badkas Square), Tilak Putala, Thadeshwari Ram Mandir, and Agyaram Devi Square before culminating at the ISKCON Temple.
Along the route, devotees will honor the Lord with bhog offerings and aartis at various key locations. Many well-wishers and devotees have arranged refreshments and snacks for participants throughout the procession.
To ensure the success of the event, active contributions are being made by several ISKCON devotees, including Hari Kirtan Prabhu, Brajendra Tanay Prabhu, Vishal Prabhu, Venugopal Prabhu, Aradhya Bhagwan Prabhu, Narhari Thakur Prabhu, Dharmaputra Yudhishthir Prabhu, Param Karuna Prabhu, Satchitanay Gaur Prabhu, Kalpataru Prabhu, Gopal Leela Prabhu, Jai Krishna Prabhu, Sadhana Bhakti Mataji, and others.
