Parmod, an employee of the Accountant General (Audit)-II office in Nagpur, has earned a spot in the 20-member Indian men’s A hockey squad for an exposure tour of Europe, scheduled from July 8 to 20.
Hailing from Narwana district in Haryana, the 25-year-old defender was earlier shortlisted among the 54 probables announced by Hockey India in April. The India A team will play a total of eight matches during the tour — two each against France, Ireland, and the Netherlands, along with one match each against England and Belgium.
Known for his solid defensive skills, Parmod brings with him considerable experience. He has participated in Junior Nationals held at Bhopal (2017) and Aurangabad (2018), and was part of the Indian squad that secured a silver medal at the South Africa Launch Tournament in 2019.
In the same year, he made his senior-level debut at the Chennai Nationals and clinched a gold medal at the All India Universities competition in Gwalior. Parmod has also represented the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) team at multiple national events, including the 2nd Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department National Championship in New Delhi (2022) and Bengaluru (2023).
Most recently, he won a silver medal at the 15th Hockey India Senior National Championship held in Jhansi in April 2025. Parmod has been a consistent member of the CAG team since 2022.
The Indian A team is being coached by national team assistant coach Shivendra Singh. India will open their European campaign against Ireland on July 8.
