In a decisive crackdown, the Social Security Branch of Nagpur Crime Branch busted a sex racket operating from Hotel Sargam, Bidgaon under Wathoda Police Station jurisdiction. The operation was conducted between 3:00 PM and 7:15 PM on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, officials raided the first floor of the hotel and caught Atul Sanjay Bharti (31) red-handed while he was forcing two women into prostitution for financial gain. Police seized two mobile phones, a DVR system, ₹3,000 in cash, and other material worth a total of ₹61,478 during the raid.
A case has been registered under Section 143(2) IPC and Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Wathoda Police Station. The accused has been handed over to the local police for further action.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Joint Commissioner Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime) Abhijeet Patil, led by PI Gajanan Gulhane and his team.
