In a significant success, the Anti-Housebreaking Squad of Crime Branch and Pardi Police arrested two habitual burglars responsible for a series of housebreakings across Nagpur city, cracking a total of seven theft cases and recovering property worth ₹11.12 lakh.
The case surfaced between 7 PM on June 21 and 7:15 AM on June 22, 2025, when complainant Anup Bhagwan Waghmare (34), resident of Plot No. 13, Ganesh Housing Society, Nageshwar Nagar-B, had locked his home and travelled to Pulgaon with his family. On return, he discovered the main door lock broken and valuables including ₹1,000 in cash and gold jewellery worth ₹3.29 lakh missing.
Based on the complaint, an offence was registered at Pardi Police Station under Sections 305(1), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the parallel investigation, Crime Branch’s Anti-Housebreaking team and Pardi Police traced the accused to Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh, and detained Sandeep Khemchand Tembhare (26), a resident of Chidiya Palari, Om Sai Nagar, Dunda Shivni, Seoni, MP. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime and revealed the involvement of his associate Mahendra alias Golu Ramkumar Kushwaha (35), resident of Vijawada, Seoni, MP.
Further questioning revealed that the duo was involved in three housebreakings in Pardi and another four in Mankapur Police limits, bringing the total to seven offences. Police recovered burglary tools including iron rods, screwdrivers, along with ₹74,000 in cash, from the accused.
Both suspects were handed over to Pardi Police for further legal proceedings.
This operation was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Naveenchandra Reddy, Addl. CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil, with execution led by PI Nanda Mangate, PSI Nitin Chulpar, and their team.
