In a tragic industrial accident, a 20-year-old labourer lost his life after getting trapped in a cement mixing machine at a private manufacturing unit located on Rose Lawn Road, near Ashtavinayak Empire in Wana Dongri, under the jurisdiction of MIDC Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Bharat Jagdish Nath, a resident of Khamghat village in Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh. He was employed at Mistry Brak Pvt. Ltd., where he also resided as part of the workforce.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 8 AM on July 4, when Bharat was operating a cement mixer. The machine allegedly started suddenly, trapping him inside and causing critical injuries. His co-workers immediately rescued him and rushed him to Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, but he was declared dead during treatment at around 11 AM.
Following the incident, MIDC Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) based on the statement of a colleague, Umesh Ashok Goswami (26), a native of Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh. Police are conducting further inquiries to determine whether workplace safety negligence contributed to the fatal mishap.
The tragic death has once again raised concerns about industrial safety standards and the need for stricter enforcement of occupational hazard protocols in factories and construction sites.
