Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Social Security Branch in Nagpur has busted a prostitution racket operating from a flat in Vishram Nagar, Kapil Nagar area. A woman accused of facilitating and forcing another woman into sex work has been arrested, and one victim was rescued during the operation.
Based on specific intelligence, a team from the Crime Branch conducted a raid on Flat No. 166, Vandana Vihar Apartment on July 5, between 5:50 pm and 9:45 pm. The accused, identified as 38-year-old Ranjita Kaur Babusingh Matadu, was allegedly running the operation for financial gain by offering her premises for illegal activities.
Police seized ₹2,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and other items valued at approximately ₹17,020. A case has been registered under IPC Section 143(3) and Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The accused has been handed over to Kapil Nagar Police for further legal action.
