Nagpur: A 30-year-old woman and her partner have been arrested for allegedly killing her husband after he confronted them over their illicit relationship. The crime took place in the Wathoda area on July 4 and was initially treated as a case of natural death until the post-mortem report revealed otherwise.
According to police, the deceased, Chandrasen Balkrishna Ramteke (38), a resident of Sainath Society, Tarodi Khurd, was found unresponsive at home. His brother, Sanjay Ramteke, was alerted by a neighbor and rushed him to a private hospital, where he was declared dead. A post-mortem report later confirmed that the death was due to strangulation, with pressure marks on the throat, nose, and mouth.
During interrogation, the victim’s wife, Disha Ramteke, confessed to the crime and revealed that she and her lover, 28-year-old Asif Raja Islam Ansari alias Raja Babu Tyrewala, conspired to kill her husband. The murder reportedly took place between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm on July 4.
Wathoda Police have registered a case under BNS Sections 103(1) and 3(5) and taken both accused into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
