Nagpur: The Sitabuldi Police conducted a late-night raid at Toquo Bar and Restaurant in Dharampeth after receiving confirmed intelligence about loud music being played illegally using unlicensed sound systems. The action was taken during routine patrolling between 1:15 am and 1:30 am on July 6.
Upon reaching the venue, police discovered that the bar was hosting music sessions using high-decibel audio equipment without the mandatory permissions. When questioned, the bar managers – Aditya Mukundrao Unhe (28), a resident of Vijnan Nagar, Manewada Road, and Suyog Siddhant Uke (35), a resident of Suyog Nagar, Ajni – failed to produce any license or permission for using the equipment.
Police officials confirmed that the act was in violation of prohibitory orders issued by the Additional Police Commissioner for maintaining public peace. A case was subsequently registered under Sections 292 and 223 of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 31(1), 131, and 36 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The police seized sound equipment worth ₹2.95 lakh, including six sound boxes, four mixer machines, and three connectors.
The operation was executed under the supervision of Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional Commissioner Naveenchandra Reddy, Additional Commissioner (North Division) Rajendra Dabhade, DCP Zone 2 Nityanand Jha, and ACP Sitabuldi Division Sudhir Nandanwar. The team included PI Vivekanand Raut, PSI Santosh Kadam, API P.N. Bhavhal, and police constables Mahesh Bawne, Nandkishore Devgade, and Jayanta Nandekar. Further investigation is currently underway.
