After receiving a positive response from citizens to its initial online tax rebate campaign, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has announced an extension of the property tax discount scheme until December 31, 2025. Under this extended offer, online taxpayers will receive a 10% rebate, while those paying offline will get a 5% rebate on property tax for the current financial year.
The campaign is being carried out under the guidance of NMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, with support from Additional Commissioner Vaishnavi B. and Deputy Commissioner Milind Meshram. During the earlier phase of the scheme (from April 1 to June 30, 2025), the NMC offered a 15% discount to online taxpayers and a 10% discount to offline taxpayers. This led to a 20% increase in the city’s tax collection.
However, the discount does not apply to education tax, employment guarantee tax, or taxes on large residential buildings.
In view of the strong public response, the NMC has now extended the discount window until December 31, 2025. Citizens can avail of the rebate by paying their property tax online via the official Nagpur Municipal Corporation website. Additionally, taxpayers can also use the WhatsApp chatbot for payments by messaging on 7397807397.
The NMC has urged all eligible taxpayers to take advantage of this extended rebate and contribute to the city’s development.
