The Directorate of Tourism has announced that registration is now compulsory for all types of tourist accommodation businesses in the state, including vacation homes, tourist villas, homestays, and tourist apartments. The initiative aims to ensure quality stay options for tourists while generating employment opportunities for youth and women.
Deputy Director of Tourism, Prashant Sawai, has appealed to local residents in the Nagpur region to take advantage of the scheme and register their properties. Under this initiative, all tourist lodging centres are required to register with the Directorate of Tourism.
The different types of accommodations covered under the scheme include:
Vacation Homes – Private, fully furnished properties used for short-term stays.
Tourist Villas – Luxurious, independent residences with high-end facilities for tourists.
Home Stays – Accommodations where tourists stay with local families, promoting cultural exchange and local experiences.
Tourist Apartments – Studio or 1/2/3/4 BHK units in residential or commercial buildings, available on short-term rent.
To register, property owners must complete the pre-registration process on https://mahabooking.com/ and https://nidhi.tourism.gov.in/.
