In a stern message to bureaucratic machinery, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari has directed immediate acceleration of land acquisition for major road projects in Nagpur division. Expressing dissatisfaction over delays, she instructed officials to stop stalling and submit measurement and joint survey reports within set deadlines.
The directive came during a high-level review meeting held Monday, where progress on ambitious projects of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) was examined. These include the Nagpur–Gondia Expressway, Bhandara–Gadchiroli, Nagpur–Chandrapur, and Pawanar–Patradevi (Shaktipeeth) corridors.
Senior officers from revenue, rehabilitation, and land records departments — including MSRDC Joint Managing Director Manuj Jindal, Joint Commissioner Pradeep Kulkarni, and Deputy Collector Indira Chaudhary — attended the meeting, with other district-level officers joining virtually.
Bidari’s tone was unambiguous: “No more excuses. Complete the pending land measurement work and submit joint reports to acquisition officers without delay,” she said. She stressed strict coordination between departments and warned district administrations to follow fixed schedules without deviation.
To ensure compliance, Bidari instructed district collectors, land records superintendents, and regional directors to conduct frequent reviews and submit progress reports. Delays, she implied, are holding back the region’s infrastructure development and will no longer be tolerated.
With time-sensitive multi-crore highway projects hanging in the balance, the message from the top is loud and clear: either perform or prepare to be held accountable
