Centre Point School (CPS), Amravati Bypass, Dabha branch, secured the championship title in the Under-17 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school football tournament, hosted by the District Sports Office at SFS College, Seminary Hills.
In a tightly contested final, CPS edged past Narayana Vidyalayam with a 1-0 victory. The decisive goal came early, as Rishub Khemani found the back of the net in just the second minute of the match. CPS maintained a strong defensive line for the remainder of the game, effectively shutting down Narayana Vidyalayam’s attempts to equalise. The winning team was guided by coach Rahul Neware.
Meanwhile, in the Under-15 hardline final, Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Trimurti Nagar, triumphed over St John’s Public School in a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout. Goal scorers for Bhavan’s included Arnav Kubade, Abhiraj Hinge, Navinya Bharati, and Swarup Gupt. For St John’s, Nityanshu Ramkrishna, Alister Tete, and Varun Bhagat converted their penalties.
