A massive sinkhole has opened near the Mankapur cremation ground bridge, and authorities are criminally silent. The bridge, built over a wide nullah, is sinking, and one look beneath reveals a terrifying hollow void — the soil has vanished, and collapse is imminent.
Instead of swift repairs, officials have thrown in some loose soil and walked away. One lane of the ROB (Railway Over Bridge) is already shut due to visible cracks, pushing all traffic to the lower road — which is now also sinking. Heavy vehicles still zoom across, gambling with lives every second.
And that’s not all. Locals report drunken drivers and encroachments from liquor shops choking the road. It’s not just an infrastructure failure — it’s a public safety disaster waiting to strike.
Recent rains eroded the foundation. Everyone knows. Still, no barricades, no repair crew, no urgency. Are we really waiting for bodies to pile up before action is taken?
This isn’t ignorance — it’s pure negligence. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation must be held accountable. Bridges are sinking, people are screaming, but the system is sleeping.
Enough of delay. Enough of excuses. Fix the bridge or face the consequences.
Nagpur is done waiting.
