The chess enthusiasts of Nagpur witnessed an exciting display of intellectual skill and sportsmanship as the highly anticipated 15th St. Vincent Pallotti Nagpur District Inter School & Junior College Chess Championship 2025 came to a magnificent conclusion. The event, hosted by St. Vincent Pallotti School, Pallotti Nagar Branch, invited 694 young minds from 48 schools of the city, to exhibit their remarkable chess skills.
The closing ceremony marked the culmination of three days of intense competition among the chess prodigies, outwitting the opponents and making calculated moves to secure the victories. Dr. Chetan Dipak Mahadik, International Softball Player and Assistant Professor Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalay, Nagpur graced the closing ceremony as the esteemed Chief Guest and Rev. Fr. Joseph Koovely, the Vice-Provincial of Prabhu Prakash Province and Principal of St. Vincent Pallotti School, Besa, Nagpur as the Guest of Honor. The dias was also graced by Mr. K. K. Barat, the Secretary, Nagpur District Chess Association, Ms. Chhaya Janbandhu, Organising Secretary, School Manager Rev. Fr. Anto Kaitharath, Principal Rev. Fr. Shine Augustine and Chief Arbiter, Mr. Praveen Pantawane.
The closing ceremony also acknowledged the outstanding performances of the top-performers with trophies and certificates. In addition to the individual accolades in various categories, Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines was honored with the Trophy for the maximum participation of players in the event.
The success of the Inter-School Chess Championship would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of the organizing committee headed by the Principal Rev. Fr. Shine Augustine, the Organizing Secretary Ms. Chhaya Janbandhu, Championship Incharge Mr. Romeo Paul, the PTIs of the school, Ms. Kalyani Sarode, Ms. Sangita Raut, Mr. Sagar Bhoyar, Mr. Ameet Joseph, Mr. Allen Anthony, Ms. Punam Imale and Mr. Arun Kothalkar and the unwavering support from school staff and volunteer students of NCC and Scout & Guide.
As the curtains drew on this remarkable event, the Manager Rev. Fr. Anto Kaitharath and the Principal Rev. Fr. Shine Augustine extend heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, school coaches, and attendees who contributed to the success of the this prestigious tournament. Ms. Muskan Ranglani delivered the note of gratitude and Ms. Shalini Jacob and Ms. Akansha Johnson anchored the event with poise and elegance. The memories created during this championship will undoubtedly inspire the budding chess enthusiasts to strive for excellence.
