Bharatiya Janata Party ( South- West) in association with Lakshyavedh Bahuuddeshia Sanstha is organising CM Chaskak Open Kabaddi Tournament from December 21to 25 at Narendra Nagar under the floodlights.
Addressing media person convener of the event Sandeep Joshi said 70 men and 12 women teams are expected to participate. 12 men and four women teams have given direct entry to the main round. Four men and two women teams will be given entry to main round through qualification round.
Thus 16 men and six women will play league cum knockout matches. The winner in the men,’ s section will get Rs 31, 000 and trophy whereas runners up will get Rs 21,000 and trophy. The losing teams in semis will get Rs 5,000 each.
Similarly in women section winners and runners up will be given Rs 15000 and Rs 11000 respectively. The losing teams in semifinals will get Rs 2501 each.
Apart from it, there will be individual prizes for the best raider, best catcher, best all-rounder, upcoming player etc.
Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will inaugurate the tournament on December 21 in the presence of mayor Nanda Jichkar, Rajiv Hadap, MLC Girish Vyas and secretary of Nagpur District Kabaddi Association Sunil Chintalwar in the evening session.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari, former MP Ajay Sancheti, minister of state Rajkumar Badole, MLC Anil Sole, MLC Parinay Phuke, MLA Samir Meghe, and former mayor Pravin Datke will grace prize distribution function on December 25.
The qualifying matches will be played on December 23.
Ramesh Bhandari, corporator Sandeep Gavai, Lakshyavedh secretary Sanjay Pavnikar, corporator Kishor Wankhede, Ashish Pathak, and others were present at the press conference.
