Indian cricket sensation and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will inaugurate the Season 2 of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Yeshwant Stadium on January 12.
The inaugural ceremony of country’s first multidport festival will begin at Yeshwant Stadium on January 12 from 5 pm onwards.
Convener of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, Sandip Joshi informed, “We have received a consent from Mr Sachin Tendulkar to be our chief guest for January 12. He will inaugurate the season 2 of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav at Yeshwant Stadium. Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari will preside over the inaugural function which will begin at 5pm. On the occasion all the prominent dignitaries of Nagpur will share the dais.â€
The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav is a brainchild of Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Shri Nitinji Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of Government of India.
The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav—being promoted as Chak de, Khelo Nagpur Khelo—is country’s first multisport festival, which provides a platform not only to the fitness enthusiasts and amateur sportspersons but also to the professional players of Nagpur to showcase their talent in a competition format at the grassroots level.
The season 2 of this historic event will be played across all corners of Nagpur from January 12 to 26, 2019 and the 15-day sporting extravaganza carries a prize money of over Rs 72,00,000. The event will attract a participation of over 30000 sporting enthusiasts of Nagpur where around 350 events at 40 different venues both in the individual and team sport are scheduled to be organized.
Around 1700 referees will officiate the 4940 expected matches where 320 trophies and 2560 medals will be up for grab for the sportspersons. Besides, many individual awards will also be given away during concluding ceremony. During the team event, a best player in every match will also be rewarded for the individual performance.
