Change is the only permanent thing they say. We witness a lot of changes in a number of things in our day-to-day life and soon it becomes a part of our life.
One such change is in the offing in the city where all the existing zebra crossings on the city roads with conventional black and white colour combination will be replaced with the red and white colour combination.
The traffic department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has undertaken this drive, it is learnt and one such crossing with the new red and white can be seen at RBI Square.
Talking to TLN, DCP (Traffic), Raj Tilak Roushan said the traffic department had submitted a proposal suggesting the new pattern. “However, I do not want to take the credit of it. It is the NMC which is doing the work,†Mr Roushan said.
Citing its advantage Mr Roushan said red is the colour, which has a huge appeal. Moreover, any commuters can sight from a long distance and hence would give sufficient time to stop the vehicle.
A similar suggestion has been given about the stop lines, he said adding that all the zebra crossings and the stop lines in the city would be replaced with the new ones.
