Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will be the main attraction of glittering opening ceremony of the second edition of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav to be held at Yashwant stadium at 6 p.m.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, mayor Nanda Jichkar, MP Dr Vikas Mahatme, former MP Ajay Sancheti, former minister Sulekha Kumbhare, MLAs Sudhakar Deshmukh, Sudhakar Kohale, Krishna Khopde, Vikas Kumbhare, Dr Milind Mane, MLCs Prof. Anil Sole, Nago Ganar and Girish Vyas will also grace the occasion.
A marshal rally will be taken out from Krida Chowk to Yeshwant Stadium. National player Rajendra Patil, a silver medal winner in Asian Para Olympics 2018 Mrunali Pande, a gold medal winner in national athletics Nidhi Tarare, gold medal winner in 2006 Shanghai Special Olympics Games Umesh Malewar will carry the torch to the venue and will hand it over to Tendulkar.
Kabaddi coach Shailaja Jain who was instrumental in winning the medal for Iran women team in Asian Games will hoist the flag. On the occasion, Sachin will administer the oath of sportsman spirit to the players. March past of the players of all 27 games on the band of Bhonsala Military School will be organised.
Various cultural programmes of city school students will be the added attraction. Vidarbha Ranji team members who won the coveted trophy last season will be felicitated on the occasion.
