MSEDCL Launches Paperless Bill Initiative

Over 21,000 consumers across the State have opted for the paperless electricity bill, an initiative launched by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). Under the ‘Go Green’ initiative, the consumers have been urged to go for the paperless bill and are given an option of either to accept the bill through email or through SMS. Those opting for the paperless bill will be given an incentive of Rs 10 per bill, informs a press release issued by MSEDCL.

The scheme, which was launched on December 1, 2018, has evoked good response, till date claimed MSEDCL officials adding that 630 consumers from Nagpur zone and 220 from Wardha zone have registered themselves for the paperless bill.

The power distribution company has appealed to other consumers to avail the facility and contribute towards conserving the nature by avoiding the use of paper bills. MSECL through its website www.mahadiscom.in and mobile app has already given the options of paperless bills. However, it still issues paper bills to consumers every month, where a huge quantity of paper is used. The consumers who wish to receive bills through email or mobile app may visit the MSEDCL website https://billiing.mahadiscom.in/gogreen.php and register themselves for the facility. Chairman and managing director of MSEDCL, Sanjeev Kumar has appealed to a maximum number of people to avail this benefit.
